Albert billed the Beatles as the “Love Me Do boys” when announcing their January ’63 tour in December 1962. This was their first tour as the Beatles. Within two weeks after playing in Elgin, Love Me Do and Please Please me climbed in the British charts. A member of the Alex Sutherland Orchestra who was the cover band for the Two Red Shoes told me that they were impressed with the arrangements of their cover songs. Albert was willing to splash out big money to have them return to Scotland when he approached their manager, Brian Epstein.
