The Beatles were the only group that people associated with a collarless suit in the States. Interestingly, the Dennisons were wearing the same outfits in this promo-ad for PHOTO-CAST 1963/64 [edition 8]. The agents/managers had to buy their space by august ’62 so am not sure of exact dates of the photographs recorded in the publication.
“The Dennisons were formed in 1962, at Liverpool Collegiate and took their name from a Liverpool street.
They were inspired by another early Merseybeat band The Ravens, who later became Faron’s Flamingos. The Dennisons advanced from learning the Ravens’ chord patterns, to building a local reputation at the BICC club in Melling, Liverpool. They signed with Kennedy Street Enterprises in 1963, which ensured that they appeared at The Cavern Club, sharing bills with other aspiring acts such as The Beatles.”
